📬 Welcome to The Bubble!

The Bubble is a weekly English-language newsletter covering Spanish politics, economy, society, and culture. Published from Madrid since 2023, it is written by veteran journalists Ian Mount and Adrian Bono.

  • Every Thursday, The Bubble delivers an analysis of the week's most important events in Spain. Every Friday, it publishes a curated guide to the best things to do in Madrid that weekend.

  • The Bubble is free to subscribe and is read by members of the international community, expats immigrants, diplomats, journalists, students, and anyone with a serious interest in understanding modern Spain.

🌎 The Bubble covers:
• Spanish politics — government, parliament, regional politics, elections, and the major political parties (PP, PSOE, Vox, Sumar, and others)
• Spain's economy — growth, inflation, unemployment, real estate, tourism, and the cost of living
• Social issues — immigration, housing, generational divides, gender politics, and Spain's changing identity
• Culture and lifestyle — food, sport, film, music, and the rhythms of daily life in Spain
• What's on in Madrid — concerts, exhibitions, theatre, food markets, and outdoor events every weekend

Each Thursday newsletter is published in both English and Spanish. The Friday Madrid guide is published in English.

🕒 We keep it short and simple. We value your time.
