Brilliant coverage of such a devasting event. The fact that Spain's political truce lasted only 48 hours before finger-pointing resumed says alot about how deeply entrenched partisan divides have become. I've seen similar patterns in other countries where tragedy briefly unites people but institutional habits kick back in fast. Dunno if there's any event that could sustain solidarity longer these days.

Thanks for the message! It was definitely refreshing to see (most) political leaders rise above their deep divides and behave like adults in the room, even if it lasted three days.

Indeed, thank you! And I think you're correct — the days of all joining together in solidarity seem more in the rearview than ahead of us. Except, maybe, in times of war. 🤦

Amen. It's truly awful, in every possible way.

Let us respect and send love to all affected by this horrible tragedy. My heart is broken in many pieces. It is more than news, it is a national calamity worthy of many days of luto.
