Batten down the hatches, a storm’s-a-brewin’.
The National Weather Service (NWS) released a wind alert for today with gusts that could reach up to 60 kph.
The winds affect mostly Rio de la Plata and the waterfronts of the Northeast part of the Buenos Aires province. Last night brought back bad memories of last month’s floods as the river rose 6.5 feet higher than its average base level.
The City Government has requested citizens not to leave flower pots and plastic chairs out on their balconies (dangerous flying projectiles: a chair to the head can’t be pleasant).
The NWS predicts the wind will slow down as the day goes on. The Weather Channel forecasts rain with decreasing wind speeds through the next two days with FINALLY a sunny Spring weekend.
Hump days are tough, but the rest of the week will be a breeze.
Here’s the forecast for the next few days:
- Thursday: high of 18°C and low of 11°C, cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain.
- Friday: high of 19°C and low of 9°C, cloudy with a 60 percent chance of rain.
- Saturday: high of 21°C and low of 8°C, partially cloud with a 10 percent chance of rain.
- Sunday: high of 23°C and low of 12°C, partially cloud with a 10 percent chance of rain.
Spring is actually coming, we swear.
