Before we proceed any further, I’m going to be totally honest with you. I still haven’t watched The Irishman, mostly because I was still catching up on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and it’s hard for me to watch more than one thing at a time. But I feel like that’s not really of any consequence for what I’m about to tell you. There’s a The Irishman-themed café in Palermo right now that’s a replica of the Villa Di Roma that features in the latest Martin Scorsese film starring Robert de Niro, Joe Pesci, and Al Pacino.
The café opened on November 26th and will run through December 5th, giving you plenty of time to live out your Irish-Italian mob fantasies, if you’re into that sort of thing, or maybe just take some selfies that you’ll share with your 143 followers on Instagram. Every last detail from this local version of Villa di Roma is a replica of something from The Irishman, most notably the big-ass Cadillac parked on the sidewalk out front. Of course, you’ll be able to nosh on food and drink from the era while you’re there, ensuring you don’t leave hungry.
You should probably watch the movie before you head over there – it’s located at El Salvador and Carranza, right in Palermo Hollywood – otherwise it might not make a lot of sense. On the other hand, you probably have nothing better to do, so why not? Go on, give it a whirl, kid. Knock yourself out.
The Irishman is now streaming on Netflix and is showing in select movie theaters across Argentina.
