Because apparently things are not messed up enough, if you live in an apartment building in Buenos Aires chances are that you just felt an earthquake.

At around 8:05 PM tonight, an 8.4 earthquake hit the Canela Baja region in Chile and tremors were felt in several Argentine provinces, including Mendoza, Catamarca, La Rioja, San Juan, Córdoba and the province and city of Buenos Aires.

Even people in Sao Paulo reported feeling the floor move under their feet.

People in Buenos Aires quickly took to Twitter, Instagram and Vine to say that they had all felt the tremors. The Ciudad Universitaria campus in Nuñez and the universities of Belgrano, Palermo and El Salvador were all evacuated as a precaution. High rise buildings in Palermo, Caballito, Belgrano and Puerto Madero probably felt the the tremors the most.

The good news is there’s no reason to panic. Defensa Civil authorities have said that no injured or serious damage have been reported anywhere in Argentina.

In Chile, a tsunami alert remained in place and one person had been reported dead.
