Not getting your veggies in? Well, now you have no excuse!
The new app BA Ferias allows users to parse prices and hours of fairs and markets across the city.
The app, launched by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, is part of an ongoing initiative to make fresh vegetables, fruits, meat and other foodstuffs more accessible to porteños.
Spurred by government initiatives, ferias itinerante (itinerate fairs) are open daily from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Last year, the city legislature mandated that every comuna have at least one fería at a time.
Such ferías vend a diversity of fresh products and offer them at prices lower than the standard supermarket. In December 2014, two whole chickens cost $85, pork cost $85 per kilo and two packs of asparagus cost $35. What a steal!
BA Feries can be downloaded for smartphones or accessed online on the Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires‘ website.
