Konex Explores Argentine Identity With ‘Porno Gaucho’

Described by Ciudad Cultural Konex as a delirious, bizarre and unbridled comedy, Porno Gaucho, which is on every Wednesday until February 24th, is more than just a cabaret show.

The stage — which is so close to the audience that the performance borders on orgiastic — showcases Argentine provinces from Jujuy to Tierra del Fuego, in the form of human flesh with great abs, in the campiest and most diverse manner there is, allowing no room for taboos.

The protagonists — gay, straight, trans and everything in between — “not only reveal their bodies, but also national populism” in an attempt to answer the show’s ultimate question: What does being Argentine mean?

Lofty questions, but apparently half naked performers prancing around to the live sound of trans-artist Susy Shock, should give us some answers.
