The National Institute of Seismic Prevention confirmed an earthquake of 3.8º on the Richter Scale which struck 32 kilometers to the south of the city at 10:27 AM, right as President Macri was getting ready to welcome the G20 world leaders in Costa Salguero, in the neighborhood of Palermo.

The phenomenon was felt strongly in La Plata and the southern areas of the outskirts of Buenos Aires, especially in Turdera, Quilmes, Berazategui and Florencio Varela. It is likely that it didn’t affect the area where the heads of state are meeting.
