Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines. Put everything you know about ethical consumption aside and get ready to shop til you drop. Starting this Saturday, Forever 21 will make merchandise available for purchase at the Luxury Outlet in Buenos Aires. The brand joins H&M and 68 other labels present at the pop-up outlet that draws massive crowds to its location in Palermo.
Hang on just a second. This doesn’t mean that Forever 21 is opening permanent brick and mortar stores in Argentina; the brand signed a commercial agreement to sell overstock merchandise from Europe and the United States in other markets. All in all, more than 20,000 items of clothing – with a heavy emphasis on the women’s and children’s lines – will be for sale in Buenos Aires. The following week, Forever 21 will also pop-up at the Luxury Outlet located in Luján. You know, just in case you’re bitten by the retail bug during your religious pilgrimage or something.
The Luxury Outlet concept launched in 1999 and is open at Av. del Libertador 4401 from Tuesday through Sunday between 12 PM and 8 PM. This time around, the pop-up runs through Sunday, November 24th. If you’ve got a Club La Nación card, rejoice! You get a 35 percent discount on merchandise, meaning you can buy even more stuff that will eventually fall to the back of your closet, never to see the light of day again. Lucky duck.
Earlier this year, Forever 21 declared bankruptcy and announced plans to close nearly 350 of its 800 retail stores around the world. The company has said that it will continue to operate in the Latin American market, however.
