The American Club of Buenos Aires, in an effort to reach out to all Americans in the Buenos Aires area, as well as other anglophiles, has scheduled on its calendar several English-language events and other fine-tuned American activities.
Just last week, the Club, together with The Essential, continued its cycle of distinguished speaker Spanish language events with a well-attended and informative conference led by Secretary of Infrastructure Pablo Bereciartua. He outlined the many advances that have been made in infrastructure, especially with regard to controlling, if not eliminating, the flooding that has plagued the Buenos Aires city area with each major rainfall, and the recent developments in the rollout of fresh drinking water and sewer systems in the highly populated greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area.
But now, the Club will embark on a number of activities that, although perhaps not as important as agua potable and cloacas, may be more appealing to certain others. Read on and be sure to mark your calendars so you don’t miss out.
On Wednesday, August 21st The Bubble will organize its next After Office at the American Club from 7:30 PM to 10 PM. Send your RSVP [email protected]
On Thursday, August 22nd the Club, together with The Bubble, will launch its first of several planned 6 PM Chats at the American Club with a discussion on Finding William Henry Hudson to be led by British author Jason Wilson.
This will be followed by a second 6 PM Chat at the American Club on August 28th when Tanya Golubeva will discuss her newly published book Understand Russia.
Then on Friday, August 29th, the Buenos Aires International Newcomers (BAIN) will introduce country & western line dancing to its last Friday of the month After Office party from 5:30 PM to 7:45 PM. So feel free to dig out your boots, hats and bolo ties.
