The Sudamericano Sub 20 tournament has begun and Argentina’s team, led by Claudio Úbeda, was able to get a tie against Peru during the last minutes of the game. Lautaro Martínez, Argentina’s very own, scored the last minute goal and brought redemption to the team.

Peru’s Roberto Siucho scored the first goal in just the first 10 minutes of the game. The ball was shot from outside the box, diverting off of Argentina’s defender, Juan Foyth, and catching goalkeeper Ramiro Macagno off guard. Overall, the game was pretty even in performance but the Argentine team missed various opportunities to tie the game earlier on. It wasn’t until the last minutes of the game that a combo attack from Mansilla and Martínez was able to break through and get a goal inside the net.

The next match to be played by the Sub 20 team will be against Uruguay on Saturday, Jan. 21st.
