Oh, that’s gonna go super well with the press corps.
Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich is not having a good day. At least that’s what we could infer after everyone saw him ranting on live television against an article published on Clarín yesterday that said that prosecutor Alberto Nisman was thinking of calling for President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to be detained in connection to the alleged plot orchestrated by members of her administration to cover up Iran’s role in the bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center in 1994.
The article in question (which you can read here) said that an early draft of his report against Cristina included a request to have her arrested, although this didn’t make it to the final version.
According to journalists Nicolás Wiñazky and Daniel Santoro, the police found this draft in a trash bin in Nisman’s apartment.
Capitanich categorically denied this, saying that the article was a total lie. So he did this.
“Truth always triumphs,” he said, and warned: “This is how it’s going to be from now on. A very active dynamic”.
