October is finally here and so is the new Netflix lineup. Between spring’s rainy days and windy nights, our faithful friend Netflix is once again, saving the day so we can all happily stay inside binging on content and carbohydrates.

Nerd Alert! October is FULL of all things Star Wars

The person in charge of coming up with lineups over at Netflix seems to have a major Star Wars obsession (zero shame in that game). Movies, documentaries, even a LEGO inspired version of the sci-fi saga will all be released for your viewing pleasure this month!

The Empire Strikes Back, The Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace, The Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith are available as of October 2nd. Go nuts.

Movies

The Siege of Jadotville: October 10th

”Outnumbered, cut off from reinforcements, abandoned by their leaders. They won’t surrender until every bullet is fired”.

This film tells the true story of the 1961 siege of a 150-member Irish U.N. battalion under Commander Patrick Quinlan by 3,000 Congolese troops, led by French and Belgian mercenaries working for mining companies. We know Jamie Dornan didn’t really impress with his Fifty Shades performance, but we think this film just might show us a side of him we haven’t seen before (no pun intended).

The 13th Amendment: October 7th

Netflix is releasing a documentary that they have produced themselves, tackling one of the biggest issues currently facing the United States — a criminal justice system that doesn’t seem to be working fairly for everyone. Starting from the creation of the 13th amendment, and working its way to 2016 and all the chaos currently surrounding the topic, this documentary is definitely worth checking out.
