- 22 minutes. That’s how long the meeting between Pope Francis and President Mauricio Macri lasted and the media took no time to notice it. However, the government is downplaying the “coldness” of the meeting: Foreign Minister Susana Malcorra and Cabinet Chief Marcos Peña were particularly critical of the way the meeting was portrayed, saying that it was a “good meeting,” that “the President doesn’t talk much” and, in Peña’s case on Facebook, that the criticisms “makes people think we’re a difficult country.”
- Unfortunately, one of the main news stories over the weekend was the murder of two young Argentine women traveling in Ecuador. Marina Menegazzo and María José Coni were from Mendoza and were allegedly killed by two Ecuadorian men, who are in custody.
- Former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner will be investigated over charges of fraud and she will have to testify on April 13th. The case revolves around irregularities in the sale of future dollars. If you think that “future dollars” means your upcoming paycheck, you might want to click here.
