In other news, President Mauricio Macri spoke with Donald Trump yesterday, according to a statement released by the White House.

According to the official statement, the two presidents “underscored their continued commitment to expanding trade and investment between the United States and Argentina.” Trump apparently also thanks Macri’s “economic reform efforts” and they both discussed “the ongoing crisis in Venezuela and agreed to continue to work together to help the people of Venezuela restore democracy in their country.”

Remember that Macri and Trump have a history of doing business together and even though last year it sounded like the Argentine government was secretly rooting for Hillary to win the elections, things between the two leaders have been pretty amicable, with even US Vice-President Mike Pence paying a visit to Buenos Aires back in August.
