Oh hey, welcome back to The Setlist! The only music column to not only spill the beans on all the hottest live music there is to see in the city of Buenos Aires, but also remind you on a regular basis (and in no uncertain terms) that time is a cruel mistress, love is an illusion, and we are all but insignificant specks of dust in a cold, uncaring universe.
Now, why would you need what’s ostensibly a music column to do that, you may ask? Gee, I dunno. Why would you need your phone to give you the weather? Just count your blessings that you live in an age where any of this is even possible. And count your blessings that you live in a town where there’s so much excellent live music to see. This week packs a wallop, so let’s get right to it!
But first! A quick reminder. We want to make sure we cover as much material as possible each week; with a scene this active, a lot can slip through the cracks. So, in our effort to remain on top of things, we’ve set up an e-mail address where you — that’s right, you, dear reader — can submit your own suggestions for shows for us to cover. If you have a gig coming up, or you know of one, we want to hear about it! Hit us up at email@example.com. On with the music!

Hey, you know what we love here at The Setlist? Hot sauce. It’s great. But you know what else? Loud guitars. Pop hooks, too. Songs that crackle and pop with volume and purpose, with catchy melodies that burrow into your consciousness and take up residence there for a week or two. That’s why this show featuring synthy garage-rockers Chamacos, the high-octane punk rock of Calma Isabel, and the maddeningly hooky, 90s-tinged sound of AUTOPISTA is such a fantastic fit. We have no idea if there’s any hot sauce involved in the evening. To be honest, probably not. It’s a rock show, dude. Don’t get greedy.
