Merry February! If the ghosts of verano‘s past have any truth to them, the worst of the heat warnings are behind us and we can look forward to more bearable summer shows in the coming weeks (hallelujah). This week the cultural centers beckon with a bevy of folk, rock and experimental musicians, plus a couple extra shows worth attending.

Superfans and colgados rejoice! After two sold-out engagements, pop musician Coiffeur is back for an encore presentation of his intimate, unpluggeds set at El Universal, playing songs from his first 2 albums “No Es” and “Primer Corte.” Get there early to ensure you make the cut – that spacious patio fills up surprisingly fast.

I have not yet been to Espacio Cultural Dinamo, but according to their event description it seems to be magical place, a place of vegan options, drink specials, and free ping-pong. And this Saturday they will also be opening their stage to 4 live acts, including rock bands Mucho Mundo & Evolve Today, hardcore band Enero Es Tan Cruel, and experimental art rocker Rod Blur.
