Hello my beauties. Are you all ready for your extended weekend? Gotta love those glorious, state-sanctioned bridge holidays, no? I myself am heading for Rosario (so hot right now), but because I love you all dearly I have rustled up a veritable smorgasbord of live shows to enjoy in my absence. In fact, there are so many good shows going down that I’m almost regretting leaving. But not really, because the glamorous beaches of the Rio Parana are calling and this fangirl really needs a mini-vacation. Cheers!
Start off your extra-long super weekend with a big ol’ serving of funk, soul, dub, reggae, afrobeat, and hip-hop, courtesy of Fiesta Phunk. In addition to DJ Paul Gallet and Cuchodub, attendees can dance to live performances from Data Process (funk/jazz/neosoul), Banzai FC (funk/jazz/rap), Simon Fuga (acid jazz/funk/soul) and Morganville (post-jazz/no-jazz/wait, what?).

The extremely popular alt-rock band LOS REYES DEL FALSETE present their new album “LO QUE NOS JUNTA” this Thursday night at Xirgu Espacio Untref. Their fresh batch of guitar-driven anthems are the kind of songs you can’t help but sing along to — and will doubtlessly sound even better performed live. Shaman Herrera y Santiago Adano open

Celebrate the immaculate conception with a “Satan Claus Xmas Party,” complete with blasphemous lady rocker overtones! Headlining the night is Amor en la isla, the anagram of frontwoman Sol Marianela, who will be presenting two new records that are heavy on the surf punk with just a dash or two of doo wop. If that weren’t enough, slow-core band Amberes and La Plata power pop trio Ruidas will both be presenting their extremely promising debut EPs.
11 PM | AR $70 | Espacio Cultural Mi Casa | Aguero 787| Abasto
Friday | December 9
It’s the last Danelectro of the year, and the live music series is most certainly ending on a high note. New wave meets dreampop act Pyramides will be playing, along with melodic bedroom musician Ignacio del Pórtico and the much-adored lady surf rock band Las Piñas. Don’t miss it kids.
11 PM | AR $70 Presale, $100 Door| Naranja Verde | Av. Santa Fe 1284 | Centro

Love Wilco, Grizzly Bear, and Calexico, but kind of wish they sang en castellano? Casita de Salvajes present their extremely lovely new album Sueños de Invierno, which clocks in at an impressive 15 tracks long and is most certainly an achievement worth celebrating. Opening are English folk revivalist Betty Blight and indie pop crooner Dieguez.
80s-inspired electro pop artist Pablo Malaurie says goodbye to 2016 (and good riddance, if you ask me) with one last show chock full of synthesizers. He is joined by the dreamy and intriguing ambient artist Lujo Asiático.
