Look at all these happy people who didn't have to smuggle their iPhones through customs!

We have some good news and some bad news.

The good news is, as you can predict from the headline, that the iPhone X is hitting the shelves in Argentina on January 19. The bad news? Well, make sure you’re sitting down: Prices will be pretty high: AR $43,299 (or US $2,246) for the 64 GB version and AR $49,999 (or US $2,594) for the 256 GB version.

Yup, we warned you about it. And it could get worse if the exchange rate keeps going up.

According to Infobae, the iPhone will hit the shelves of premium resellers such as One Click and other retailers such as Frávega on January 19, although pre-orders will begin on January 12.

The high prices shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering Argentina is the most expensive country in the region to buy tech.

So now you know. Happy buying (if you can).
