There’s no denying French cuisine’s appeal. Luckily for all of us francophile gourmands, Buenos Aires’s French food scene has a lot to offer. This month, some of the major players will be opening their kitchens and sharing some of their recipes with the general public for ‘La Cuisine des Chefs’, hosted by gastronomic association Lucullus. One such teaching series is Cocina de Alegría with none other than legendary Béatirce Chomnalez. She’ll be teaching us how to make a spring risotto — the French way — as a starter, and will give a lesson on cooking mollejas that goes way beyond throwing them on top of a grill. At Pulperia Quilapan Grégoire Fabre will be giving some expert insight on how to master some of Senegal’s most emblematic dishes, while explaining the French influence that distinguishes these delights. Pricing with start at AR $330 and will go up to AR $590. Some of Bodega Luigi Bosca best labels will be present for the perfect pairing. Each class has a limited capacity, so make sure to book your in advance through Lucullus’ official website.

Nuestros Quesos | shout out to local cheese fans

More than a food event, ‘Nuestros Quesos’ is a celebration. The Agriculture Ministry has teamed up with Apymel, an organization of over 500 local cheese producers, to launch a campaign to celebrate the national cheese production. Any cheese-fan here knows just how hard it is to find good products at the local supermarket. All over the country, cheese producers will be offering free tastings, hoping to convince us all that Argentina’s cheeses are up to our standards. Although little information has been released so far, the campaign has been pretty active on social media. You can already find out more via the hashtag #NuestrosQuesos on twitter. Soon, tastings around you will be announced via Apymel.

The biggest beer event in Buenos Aires is back. Nearly 20 of the country’s biggest breweries will be serving their buzz inducing brew to live music and DJ sets. Beer in BA has a serious side too and is also a place to study. For the sixth edition, organizers have launched a special place devoted to “Beer Education”. Workshops and talks will be held throughout the day. The access to those is included in the entrance fee. Details and schedule will soon be shared via the event’s Facebook Page. An entire day of beer info and learning couldn’t be possible without food. But Beer in BA seems to have everything under control as they have set an entire food court to help us charge our batteries. Feel like this is your kind of fest? Then hurry up and get your tickets soon! The 3rd pre-sale is currently open, and it will be until November 19. No tickets will be sold at the entrance this time. You can purchase through their official App or via the Passline platform.

Gastronomic Association A.C.E.L.G.A, the force behind MESA de estación, is launching a one week event that promotes the consumption of seasonal products. For this spring’s edition feature the veggies our 8-year-old-self’s promised never to touch: asparagus, peas and beans. Thirty restaurants are taking part in the seasonal fun, with each working on a special menu based on the three starring ingredients. We’re curious to see what guys at Gran Dabbang will be coming up with, and wonder what Elena’s famous dried-aged beef will taste like surrounded but those three little buddies. How would a peas ceviche taste like at La Mar? The menus haven’t been announced yet, but are expected to go public soon. Keep updated with MESA’s official website.
