It’s possible some Boca supporters took the news of his transfer worse than others.

While the public and Boca fans alike waited with bated breath and an increased sense of certainty settled in over Carlos Tevez’ impending move to China over the Christmas weekend, ‘el Apache’ celebrated his marriage to long-term girlfriend Vanesa Mansilla in Carmelo, Uruguay.

The festivities were somewhat dampened, however, as it emerged that Carlitos’ home in the affluent La Horqueta area of San Isidro in Buenos Aires province was subject to a robbery on Sunday afternoon. According to police sources, an opportunistic group apparently took advantage of Tevez’ absence and the typical Christmas day lull in order to break in, despite the presence of several security booths within meters of the house.

The house on Raúl Bagnati and Eliseo Reclus is being temporarily used by the striker and his family while construction continues on the neighboring property, which is where the group is thought to have entered through.

As Tevez returned to Buenos Aires yesterday via helicopter, it’s pretty likely that this episode won’t have done much to change his mind regarding his big-money move to Shanghai Shenhua, which, according to Boca director Carlos Aguas, will be confirmed in a press conference sometime this week.
