Marcelo Ezquiaga will celebrate the release of his new album “Morocho” with a live performance at the Trastienda this Thursday. “Morocho” is a compilation of classic Carlos Gardel hits, with a modern twist. In an effort to personalize the tangos and make them his own, Ezquiaga reinvents the Gardel tunes in the genre he feels most comfortable in, pop. The idea is to tap into the nostalgia of the legend, and bring his genius to the younger generation. The album features collaborations with artists like Moreno Veloso, Martín Buscaglia, Leo García, Onda Vaga, Kevin Johansen, Julieta Venegas, and more. Thursday’s show promises to have something for everyone: whether you’re a tango aficionado, or just someone looking for a pop show on a Thursday night.
