It is officially spring. It’s warmer out, the birds are chirping, the hell that was winter is all over now babydolls, and what better way to celebrate than with a dreamy tune-filled festival? There is no better way, so this Saturday get out of the city and into provincia to witness Stamina’s Bajo El Sol festival for yourself.
Set outside the city in the lovely El Granero de Las Palmas, Stamina‘s Bajo El Sol features a lineup to make your mouth water. El Plan de Mariposa? Check. Eric Mandarina? Check. Everyone’s favorite neighborhood rockers Harm and Ease? DJs spinning the hip hop your soul’s been missing every time reggaeton comes on? Check.
But Bajo El Sol is not your normal festival, considering that Stamina is a collective that was started to “resist the fatigue which is essential in the world of art.” And it shows with the eclectic and family friendly onda of the day: soccer games and foosball tournaments, kids and dogs welcome, parilla and vegan options to boot.
I talked to Grace Portillo (of Folk You Monday fame with Amy Winehouse pipes of her own) who along with Celeste Barrionuevo is responsible for organizing the magic.
Talk to me about what you love about the Buenos Aires Music Scene.
