If your Argentine friends are freaking out today, don’t panic. Well… do if your a Rolling Stones fan. The band has sent fans crazy today after announcing the release date of their new album Blue & Lonesome.  It’s set for the 2nd of December. This is their first studio album in over 10 years — so this is understandably registering as massive news for the country’s rolingas.

Another date to watch? The 12th October — when all those burning questions fans have been grappling with will be answered on Twitter.

 

The band were in Argentina earlier this year on their América Latina Olé Tour, playing here for the fourth time. Their last three performances were in 1995, 1998 and 2006. With their record breaking 1995 Voodoo Lounger Tour seeing no fewer than 344,000 fans turn-out to see the band.

“I think I speak for the band when I say. Great, where next… Buenos Aires? Yes! You guys have no problem having fun” said guitarist Keith Richards.

Argentina couldn’t handle the band leaving this year so put on a month long photography exhibition about the band’s early days in Konex, taking a trip down nostalgia lane to sooth their sorrows.

For those willing to make the trek, this Friday and next Friday they will by playing alongside Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney at the Desert Trip Festival in California.

Blue & Lonesome

It only took three days to record and features covers of many of their influences like Jimmy Reed, Eddie Taylor and Howlin’ Wolf. We’ll also see appearances from guest artists like Eric Clapton.

“The passion for blues has always been in the heart and soul of the Rolling Stones” said the band.

As a little taster for fans they released one track off the album, Just Your Fool”.
