Government officials today confirmed that the public hearing to discuss gas price increases will be held on March 10th.
This news follows Enargas’ recent announcement that gas prices will go up on average by 50%, however official protocol dictates that a public hearing must be held before the increases are implemented on April 1st. This increase is one of many and is part of the Macri administration’s wider plan to eliminate energy subsidies by the end of 2019.
The hearing will take place starting at 9am at the Teatro de la Ribera on Avenida Pedro de Mendoza on the 10th of March. Those who wish to participate in the hearing must register at the reception desk of ENARGAS which is located beneath their headquarters and is open from 10am to 5pm on Mondays to Fridays.
The hearing is expected to be less chaotic than a similar event last year where the announcement that prices were set to increase by 203% led to notable outrage among protestors.
