Pope Francis will meet with the family of Santiago Maldonado, the 28 year old Argentine tattoo artist whose body was recently found in the Chubut River after being missing for 78 days. When law enforcement forces were still searching for Maldonado, his brother Sergio sent a letter to Pope Francis asking for his help; Pope Francis responded by sending them a written letter in which he invited the family to visit him.
Today, he followed through on and, in a phone conversation with Maldonado’s mother, Stella Maris Peloso, invited the family to visit them in the Vatican. According to Infobae, they will have a private audience at the Pope’s private residence of Santa Marta after Francis once he returns from his tour to Bangladesh and Myanmar, which ends on December 2, and the 20th day of that same month.
The investigation into the cause of Maldonado’s death continues.
