Jayson McNamara came to The Bubble podcast to discuss his documentary, Messenger on a White Horse, about The Buenos Aires Herald and its legendary editor Robert Cox. McNamara, a former staff writer at the Herald, spent more than a year collecting archival material and interviewing some of the key players during the era to tell the story about how the English-language paper was one of the few that dared to speak out about the brutal crimes of the military junta that ruled Argentina from 1976-1983. McNamara, an Australian native who has made Buenos Aires his home, is the first to bring the story of the Herald to the big screen. The documentary premieres Thursday October 12 in the Gaumont theater (Av. Rivadavia 1635) in downtown Buenos Aires.
