A man died this afternoon after the fuse box he was repairing in downtown Buenos Aires exploded, with two more hospitalized.
Alberto Crescenti – director of healthcare company SAME – confirmed the death, stating that the 38-year-old was killed by a powerful electric shock on the junction between the busy streets of Corrientes and Florida.
The man was with three Edesur coworkers at the time of the explosion. Two of them were hospitalized. Crescenti assured that their conditions are not life-threatening.
“They were carrying out the repair job when one of the men received a high-voltage electric shock. By the time the medical team arrived, nothing could be done”, said Crescenti.
Traffic on the two busy roads has been diverted as police, ambulances and firemen work to ensure the area is safe for members of the public.
