Yesterday, President Mauricio Macri published a photo of his dog, Balcarce, sitting where else but in the Casa Rosada’s presidential seat.

“The other day, Balca was in the Casa Rosada and sat in the famous presidential seat. He is the first dog in Argentine history to get there. We’re very proud of him,” the head of state wrote on Facebook.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen. Macri’s pup sat in the same chair presidential behinds immemorial have found comfortable refuge in, from Santiago Derqui — the nation’s fourth President from 1860 to 1861 and the first to inaugurate the chair — to Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

(Fun fact: Balcarce, who became Macri’s Republican Proposal (PRO) party mascot during the now head of state’s campaign, is the name of the street the Casa Rosada is located on. Smooth move, Macri.)

Macri’s really got something for the animals, doesn’t he.
