President Mauricio Macri today called US President-Elect Donald trump to congratulate him on his victory in last week’s elections.

In a brief press release, the government let us know that the conversation lasted 15 minutes and that “both remembered their historic personal relationship and commitment to working on a shared agenda for both countries’ growth.

Moreover, Macri told Trump he is looking forward to seeing him in Buenos Aires for the G-20 summit that will take place in the city in 2018, to which his North American counterpart said he would like to receive him in the White House before that year.

“Argentina is a great country and our countries will have their closest relationship in history,” the report says Trump — faithful to his style — told Macri.
