Argentina’s women’s national field hockey team has squeezed in a victory against Ireland, scoring 2-1 and confirming their spot in the World Series’ quarter finals. Even better, the win promises the Argentinean team will be taking part in the Women’s Hockey World Cup 2018 in England.
The two goals were scored by Delfina Merino (25 minutes) and Julia Gomes Fantasia (40 minutes), securing the team’s lead in the game.
Next Thursday, the Leonas will be playing against the winner of England vs India—the opponent will be defined today at 3:45 pm (British Summer Time).
However, regardless of the outcome, Argentina is already a confirmed participant of the 2018 World Cup taking place next year in London between July 7th and July 21st. Sixteen teams are to participate in the World Cup, and the Leonas are representing the Argentine Flag.

So far, the Leonas have defeated Chile 2-0, South Africa 3-1, the United States 4-0 and India 3-0, putting them first and invicted in the World Series’ B Group.
In the defining instances of the World Series, the first three teams of the contest will be competing against the teams who classified in Brussels: China, Holland and South Korea. We’d say congratulations are in order for our Leonas.
