If you’re looking for a break from this Tango dominated city, swing on over to the Notorious this Thursday to see the Jorge Anders Jazz Orchestra. The orchestra’s sound is based on the stylings of great American jazz composer Duke Ellington. Anders has studied clarinet from a young age and picked up the tenor saxophone in his twenties. He has been instrumental in the porteño jazz scene, with contributions to el Bop Club, Quinteplus and most recently, El Duque.
Thursday June 29, tomorrow, at 9:30 PM.
Notorious, Av. Callao 966. Tickets can be purchased in advance here.
Here’s a little taste of the orchestra’s music. Skip to 1:10 if you’ looking for a smooth saxophone solo.
