POSITION: LIFESTYLE STAFF WRITER

The Bubble is looking for a talented writer specializing in lifestyle and trends who can show our local and international readers the vibrant Buenos Aires scene.

In the last few years, Buenos Aires has risen as a top global destination due to its fun nightlife scene, cosmopolitan art movement and progressive society. We need a writer who has their finger on the pulse of Argentine pop culture and is on top of current trends to constantly provide readers with the latest information on what to do, what to see and what people are talking about.

The Lifestyle Staff Writer’s responsibilities will include:

  • Pitching original ideas to the editor in charge, as well as researching stories, collecting information, contacting sources and interviewing opinion leaders. At the same time, the writer will be asked to stay on top of Argentina’s social trends in order to create timely, relevant content for readers looking for information about what the country is talking about in the areas described above
  • Writing and publishing daily articles with content directly or indirectly related to lifestyle (this may include, among other things, fashion, food, art, literature, music, show business, television, nightlife scene, travel, internet culture and events)
  • Reading online content, watching television, talking to the locals and following the conversation on social media regarding trends and ongoing stories related to lifestyle in Argentina.
  • Collaborating with:
    • Other senior staff members regarding multimedia content under development (video, podcast, newsletters, etc)
    • The copy/headline editor and/or Managing Editor in order to create content that is appealing to readers
    • Volunteers and contributors in order to fact check information when necessary
    • Spending at least eight hours per day, five days per week in The Bubble’s newsroom.

Candidates for the position are required to:

  • Be 100% bilingual, demonstrating perfect oral and written skills both in English and Spanish
  • Be eligible for a full time position
  • Be very familiar with Argentina’s local and expat scene as well as trends, pop culture and what’s cool in the city
  • Be very familiar with social media, infographics and analytics tools (Google Trends, etc)
  • Background in journalism preferred

Compensation will consist of a full time salary.

POSITION: TECH/STARTUP CONTENT CREATOR

The Bubble is looking for a talented journalist specializing in the tech & startup scenes in Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires has recently been making waves as a rising star in the tech and startup world. We need a content creator in touch with this up and coming, vibrant scene who can provide The Bubble with constant coverage of the latest, the coolest and the next big thing in the region.

The Tech/Startup content creator’s responsibilities will include:

  • Pitching original ideas to the editor in charge, as well as researching stories, collecting information, contacting sources and interviewing key protagonists of the tech/startup scene with the understanding that readers (and investors!) from all around the world are listening.
  • Creating daily written and/or audiovisual content
  • Reading online content, watching television, talking to the locals and following the conversation on social media regarding trends and ongoing stories related to the tech/startup scene in Argentina.
  • Collaborating with:
    • Other senior staff members regarding multimedia content under development (video, podcast, newsletters, etc)
    • The copy/headline editor and/or Managing Editor in order to create content that is appealing to readers

Candidates for the position are required to:

POSITION: SOCIAL MEDIA & ENGAGEMENT MANAGER

The Bubble is looking for a highly-motivated social media manager who is obsessed with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and whatever other social medias the youths are using these days. We want to take our company’s presence on social media to the next level, and we want someone who is energetic and excited about this challenge

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead creation of new social content across all channels in close collaboration with the content and communications teams, as well as other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the editors on the content team to identify trending stories; provide insight and feedback to editors during pitch and brainstorm meetings
  • Pitch article or segment ideas to the Production Staff based on social learnings and insights, as well as trending stories
  • Help manage day to day audience engagement on all social channels including taking part in real time conversation management
  • Measure, analyze and report on qualitative and quantitative audience insights, and work cross-functionally with analytics and engagement teams to define metrics and track business results
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.
  • Work closely with the Communications/PR Team, including attending high-priority events and supporting real-time social sharing
  • Curate and support social contests, campaigns, activations, sponsorships and events.
  • Continuously improve social presence by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information to further the advancement of social communities.
  • Optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content
  • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.

Skill Requirements

  • 2+ years of social media experience within the news, television or media realm, including community engagement, reporting, and strategy; experience in lifestyle or politics a plus.
  • Exceptional understanding and use of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat,
  • Highly self-directed and resourceful with the ability to work independently, while also being a productive team player
  • Passionate about social media and emerging trends
  • Strong writing, editing, reporting, and project management skills

POSITION: VIDEO EDITOR

The Bubble is looking for a talented video editor who can work with our video director to create original, professional-level multimedia content for our media company.

We need an editor who can create vibrant, exciting stories in the style of Vice, Vox and the Washington Post about Argentina and Latin America.

The Video editor’s responsibilities include:

  • Editing videos created by The Bubble staffers or based on interviews done at The Bubble’s studios or out in the field. The editor will not only cut and edit videos to make sure the stories are presented in a fast-paced, agile fashion, but will also be responsible for adding a soundtrack, special effects (graphics, etc) and subtitles.
  • Create at least two videos per day
  • Collaborating with:
    • Other senior staff members regarding multimedia content under development (video, podcast, newsletters, etc)
    • Staff writers in politics, economy, lifestyle, guest voices, start up/tech, contributors, social media manager and volunteers in order to create content relevant to their sections
    • Spending at least eight hours per day, five days per week in The Bubble’s newsroom.

Candidates for the position are required to:

  • Be proficient in both English and Spanish
  • Be eligible for a full time position
  • Be familiar with video style used by modern news sites such as Vox and Vice.
  • Be proficient in Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut
  • Some experience preferred

POSITION: VIDEO EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

The Bubble is looking for a talented video executive producer who can work with our video editor and newsroom staffers to create original, professional-level multimedia content for our media company.

We need a video executive producer who has their finger on the pulse of Argentine society and can help create two videos per day related to what people in Argentina are talking about in areas such as politics, economy, tech/start up or lifestyle.

As Argentina continues to gain notoriety around the world as a top global destination, we are looking for an executive producer with enough vision to create stories and original segments in the style of Vice, Vox and the Washington Post about Argentina and Latin America.

The Video Executive Producer’s responsibilities include:

  • Coming up with interesting and original ideas for videos related to any of The Bubble’s sections
  • Work with the video editor to make sure they comply with specific deadlines everyday
  • To make sure each video is appropriately formatted before it is published
  • Collaborating with:
    • Other senior staff members regarding multimedia content under development (video, podcast, newsletters, etc)
    • Staff writers in politics, economy, lifestyle, guest voices, start up/tech, contributors, social media manager and volunteers in order to create content relevant to their sections
    • Spending at least eight hours per day, five days per week in The Bubble’s newsroom.

Candidates for the position are required to:

  • Be proficient in both English and Spanish
