Palermo, Meet Your New Street Art Gallery
Urban art-space Galería UNION will be baptizing its new Palermo premises this Wednesday with a group show displaying the work of several well known urban Latin-American artists. After putting in their time on the cool side of the tracks in San Telmo, its new site will help disseminate awareness of and access to curated urban art culture on the other side of the city which, as we know, has its fair share of street-art
UNION is a gallery that works to support the urban Latin-American art scene, using its exhibitions and events to pin down slices of an art culture whose urban medium is in a constant state of renovation and decay. It’s founded by Graffitimundo, a not-for-profit organization that works to:
“connect more people with this fascinating scene and document the cultural and historical context of this unique movement.”
Follow it up with a visit to Post Street Bar, Palermo’s top street art bar and gallery. UNION promises seriously solid onda, and combined with a bit of urban art culture it might just be the perfect balm for today’s citywide paralysis, with all the malcontent and HBO binge-watching there engendered.
Opening Wednesday 10th, 19h.
Gallery opening hours: 12-19hs Monday – Friday, or by appointment
