Fancy a free concert at the Colón Theater?

That’s right. Here’s your chance to finally get to see the legendary opera house in action. After a massive renovation project in 2010, the Colón is definitely a must when visiting (or heck, just plain living in) Buenos Aires.

According to the National Geographic, it’s the third best opera house in the world, and its shoebox-shaped hall is considered one of the five best concert halls worldwide in terms of acoustics, alongside the Grosser Musikvereinssaal in Vienna, Symphony Hall in Boston, the Konzerthaus in Berlin and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Not bad, eh?

As part of the “Intérpretes Argentinos” series, Bercellini & Formaro will offer a concert on Sunday, April 30th at 11 AM. The cello and piano duet will play pieces by Felix Mendelssohn, a German composer of the early Romantic period, towards the end of the 17th Century.

Free tickets for this and all concerts from the cycle are available every Friday prior the performance from 10 AM to 8 PM at the Colón ticket office. However, they’re giving two tickets per person until the hall is full. We strongly recommend you be there early to get yours.
