Federal Judge Julián Ercolini today indicted former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner for allegedly being part of an unlawful association in the case investigating whether she gave businessman Lázaro Báez public works contracts that fronted for an embezzling scheme during her administration.

Báez, Former Planning Minister Julio De Vido, former Public Works Secretary Jose López (Public Works Secretary) as well as other officials during the Kirchner administration were indicted as well.

Moreover, Ercolini ordered Fernández’s assets be seized for AR $10 billion (you read that right) in order to prevent her from potentially getting rid of them and consequently not be able to compensate the State if found guilty.
