Get ready, everyone! The time has come to suffer.

Tonight after 6 PM (Argentina time) Argentina’s tennis legend Juan Martín Del Potro will clash with another tennis monster, the world’s number one player Rafael Nadal in an effort to reach the US open final.

Only two days ago, Del Potro overcame a resilient Roger Federer to reach the semifinals of a tournament that he already won in 2009. The two clashed that year in the semifinals, and Del Potro knocked out Nadal to go on to beat Federer in the final.

Del Potro has been the talk of the tournament so far and has been riding a wave of enthusiasm into the semifinal. The so-called “Tower of Tandil” broke onto the tennis scene when he was just 20 years old, but consistent wrist injuries resulting in four surgeries brought him to the brink of retirement.

A second victory at the US Open for Del Potro would be something out of a fairy tale.

His main strength is obviously his ferocious forehand, which has bought him 69 victories in total.

Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel films, got involved in the build up. A video circulated, which was later tweeted by both the US open official account and by Federer himself, of Del Potro playing against Federer, except that Thor’s hammer has been edited in place of Del Potro’s racket. Hemsworth, as a result, jokingly asked for advice from Del Potro.

Up against the 29th seed is Rafa Nadal. The so called ‘King of Clay’, has won 15 grand slams and two Olympic gold medals. Nadal, physically being in better shape having spent 1 hour and 40 minutes less on the court this week, remains favorite after a shaky start to the Open has seen his form improve gradually as he aims to take home his 16th major title.

Nadal beat Russian teenager Rublev in straight sets to reach the semi final.

But what the hell, our heart is with Delpo tonight. <3
