One of the best ways to learn a language and really understand a country is through cinema. We are excited to learn, watch and understand more about Argentine cinema in this new video series! We also want your opinion, so leave us your comments in the comments section and let us know what other movies or shows you want us to break down. For now, let’s start with the first one we have chosen for this series: La Cordillera.”
“La Cordillera” – “The Summit” in English – is a political thriller in which Latin American heads of state gather for – unsurprisingly – a summit in a remote hotel in the Andes mountain range. The movie is starred by Argentines Ricardo Darín, Dolores Fonzi and Erica Rivas, as well as American actor Christian Slater.
In the movie, Ricardo Darin portrays a fictional Argentine president who has to deal with a corruption scandal involving his daughter while defending his country’s interests at the same time. This is the first time in Argentine cinematic history in which a fictional Argentine head of state has been depicted on the big screen.
In this video series, we will break down the good and the bad about this movie. Find out what Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB and what we here at The Bubble rated it. Leave us your comments below. Did you like the movie? How many Bubbles would you have rated it?
