A worker has been killed after being struck by a falling bolt on a construction site in the tony neighborhood of Puerto Madero.
Arguably less glamorous than Puerto Madero’s last highly publicized death in Alberto Nisman, 45-year-old Leonardo Carmona died on the operating table after the “large bolt” fell 42 floors before penetrating his helmet and burying itself in his skull.
“A laborer who was working high up had the bolt attached to a wire. In a split second, he dropped his drill, the wire snapped and the bolt fell”, explained a co-worker in an interview with Radio Mitre.
According to sources, Carmona had been working on the site for five months and leaves behind three children.
The legal case is being handled by Marcelo Solimine.
