Turns out miners are the best paid professionals in Argentina, earning an average of AR $70,000, according to the Labor Ministry, the video informs us. Mining finds itself crowned the highest paying career for two years in a row now, Taringa placed it at number one last year. Of course, bear in mind that this is an average salary taking into account positions as wide ranging as miners’ and executives’. And although actual miners do make bank, they don’t always work in the best of environments.

For example, a miner could end up working in the Veladero mine in San Juan Province famous for a massive cyanide spill last year.  It’s located at an altitude of 4,000 meters. Not the easiest gig in the world.

2. Oil: monthly average of AR $46,000

Workers in the oil industry are also doing pretty well, earning a monthly average of AR $46,000.

Again, keep in mind that this is an average. While employees working on the platforms make up to AR $50,000, in Chubut Province, for instance, employees working in offices can get up to AR $90,000 in the same province, the video informs.

3. Banking: monthly average of AR $38,000
