Pakistan and Argentina are seeking to deepen economic cooperation and the Pakistani embassy in Buenos Aires has invited Argentine business people and investors to participate in the 10th Expo Pakistan in Karachi next month.

The exhibition is the largest display of Pakistan’s exportable merchandise and services and it’s held at the Karachi Expo Center. Participants from more than 77 countries are expected to attend the fair thi in a massive event that will have products in display such as textile leathers, food, engineering, football goods, cars and auto parts and jewelry among other things.

Murtaza Siddiq, the Commercial Counselor at the embassy, said that “even exhibitors from neighboring countries use the fair to display their products.”

“The fair will be the primary sourcing point for a large number of businesses worldwide, giving them a head start on the buying and ordering for the coming seasons”

The embassy is now expected to announce the list of those business leaders and investors who will be representing Argentina during visit to Karachi in November.

The first edition of the Karachi fair took place in 2005, with the most recent one in 2015 being considered “highly successful” by the Pakistani government, with a large number of local and foreign buyers who made business for close to US $1.2 billion and over 70 memorandas of understanding were signed between counterpart associations and chambers.

Pakistan produces bed-linen, leather garments, surgical instruments and auto parts, among other things.
