The two leading candidates of the Buenos Aires gubernatorial election cast their ballots today and now await the results with the rest of the province and country.

Aníbal Fernández – Victory Front (FpV): The gubernatorial candidate for the ruling party was at the polls at 9:30 AM sharp with a buzz of confidence about him. “I am confident that the people will choose our proposal,” said Fernández who estimates the country will receive results by midnight tonight. He admitted that today marks the most important day of his life as becoming governor of Buenos Aires has always been a “long-time dream.”

María Eugenia Vidal – Cambiemos: Just 10 minutes before her top-rival (Fernández), Vidal had cast her ballot for the new governor of Buenos Aires at the Don Bosco school in Castelar. The candidate said she has “great hope and confidence” in being elected governor. Vidal, who was accompanied by her husband to the polls, will spend the rest of the day awaiting results with her three children.

The candidate who wins the election for governor of Buenos Aires will replace the current incumbent and presidential candidate, Daniel Scioli.
