The world-renowned actor Al Pacino is officially on Argentine soil with his Argentine girlfriend Lucila Polak after arriving to Ezeiza airport earlier this afternoon. According to media outlets covering his arrival, their presence sparked a mob of people, but without the beloved characters from Mario Puzo’s The Godfather.

Aside from the huge concentration of journalists and photographers, a man allegedly took Pacino’s suitcase by mistake. The crowd of people obviously noticed the mix-up and the poor guy gave the suitcase back, but not before Polak was left worriedly searching for the suitcase. There probably won’t be any Tony-Montana-like retribution or anything like that over the incident.

Pacino is going to be hosting an event at Teatro Colón today and tomorrow called “An Evening With Al Pacino.” It’s set to be a conversation (in English with subtitles) with Pacino (who is an eight-time academy award nominee, two Emmys, two Tony Awards, Four Golden Globes, the Cecil B. DeMille Award, the National Medal of Arts…) regarding his career and process and will mark his first public appearance in Argentina. VIP ticket-holders will be able to ask him questions later: hopefully there won’t be too many people asking about the tango scene from “Scent of a Woman.”

Before leaving the airport, Pacino allegedly ate a medialuna at Polak’s request. Now that is an offer nobody can refuse.
