The storm which hit the city of Buenos Aires yesterday in the late afternoon has caused serious power cuts, and left 62,112 people without electricity.

Edenor- the largest provider of electricity in Argentina – recorded 28, 383 clients affected by the disruptions to service.

In Greater Buenos Aires, the districts most impacted by the storm were Almirante Brown and Florencio Varela, with more than 26 000 people affected.

With regards to towns on the outskirts of the city, the worst affected were Marcos Paz and Tigre, with almost 26 000 people encountering difficulties with their electric service.

In the city of Buenos Aires, in La Boca, people who reported power cuts totalled 3768.
